There hasn't been much snow this winter, but one day last month we got about 20 inches! The snow was so soft, and it wasn't very windy, so it pilled up really high on some rather narrow surfaces. This made for some great subject matter to draw.
I really liked the way the snow created long oblong hats to the lamps.
Later we went on a pretty (and very cold) snow shoe hike along a frozen river. Once back home and warm, I made a very quick sketch of one of the views.
It'd be fun to paint outside in the winter, but I think my watercolors would freeze within seconds.
